The whole story of Anywhere surrounds the relationship between a mother and daughter. Chick flick signs actually blinking as I walked in. Not my favorite kind of movie, but the chick wants to see it and I comply. Being a man, it's hard to totally get into a completely emotional movie, I need some humor or plot or something else to help the medicine go down. Not a lick of sugar in this one, making me wish I was Anywhere But Here. My threshold for emotional stress was pushed too far without any light at the end of the tunnel. I just had to give up and hope for the credits to roll. It seems sometimes that the writers of these kinds of movies actually just want to tear your heart apart for 2 hours and I don't see any good in that. Personally, I thought it was not worth the money, but I'd call it watchable for women (and a Liked It if you just love to cry) |
