Set against the tapestry of the Revolutionary War, The Patriot witnesses the hardness of life during the war. War and death and numerous injustices litter this movie and it makes it a struggle to get thru. The movie is all you could ask for, strong characters, a compelling story and great history, but it's just a hard movie to watch because of the difficulties that war brings. In the end, you walk away drained and appreciative of the dedication of those that came before us that risked their lives everyday for this land of the free. This movie should be required viewing for every one that lives in this country.
