I'm getting a complex about my reviews that I am too harsh on the movies I see since not one movie in the last eight has made it above watchable. But, I am staying true to what I feel when I see them. I don't know if it's just me or the movies, but I just have not gotten into any lately. This movie is no different. This is a movie about football and all it's new facets in the current era of big business, where the dollar and individual success and glory is the most important. It's not a classic sport movie where the most important thing is the thrill of riding with a team that goes on to win it all, like Hoosiers. Any Given Sunday is more about all the politics that goes on in football. The movie is watchable, but doesn't give you anything or anyone to attach yourself to to really get you involved. Al Pacino is the lead in the movie and I seemed to notice that his nose looks like it got cut off at the tip more than how great he was in the movie. I would just stick with the NFL, ESPN and the Fox show for good football entertainment. |
