This was a hard movie to sit through.  Not a movie I would pick to go see, but someone wanted to see it and now your hearing about it. : ) Girl is a depressing movie with depressing people in it.  If your looking for a chick flick with women bonding and overcoming life in a positive way, then this is NOT your movie.  I can't think of a meaningful reason to see this movie.  There is nothing compelling about any of the characters or the story.  Not to mention that it's set in the 60's which isn't the happy go luckiest decade you could pick.  

When I run across a movie like this, I want to point out some "great" movie that you should go see so you don't even consider this one, but, sad to say, I have run into a poor run of movies lately and can't recommend a good one.  I hope it gets better.  My faith in the magic of movies is waning and I need a good one to come along and restore me.
