The Green Mile is another movie adaptation of a Steven King book. Another King movie, The Shawshank Redemption, which is one of my favorite movies was directed by the same man. I wasn't fired up about seeing this movie, however, simply because the story didn't seem compelling to me. Should have went with that notion!!! The movie is for lack of originality, watchable and also three hours long. Before I saw it, I read that it was a "powerful" movie, but I never felt that way, it was just a story to me. The movie does have a theme of supernatural abilities, which is something that is always hard for me to get into in a movie that's about plain folks. I can handle it in Superman or Star Wars, but it always seems to spoil the credibility of a plain story. This is a biased of mine and this might be something that you like. If you got into Phenomenon or Powder, then the supernatural might be a plus. |
